Certified Wellness & Sports Academy

At Certified Wellness and Sports Academy our Progressive Swim Lessons are structured, curriculum‑based programs designed to build water safety, confidence, and swimming skills in a clear, measurable sequence. Lessons focus on gradual skill development so swimmers gain competence and independence in the water over time. This is a progression‑based program and is not offered as à la carte or drop‑in sessions. Program Goals - Teach essential water‑safety skills to reduce risk of incidents in and around water. - Build swimmer confidence through staged skill mastery. - Develop efficient, age‑ and ability‑appropriate stroke mechanics. - Prepare swimmers for independent swimming, group classes, competitive readiness, or lifelong fitness. Structure & Format - Curriculum: Divided into sequential levels (Beginner → Intermediate → Advanced → StrokeDevelopment→ Refinement). Each level has explicit, measurable skill objectives. - Lesson length: Typically 30 minutes (toddler/preschool) or 45 minutes (school‑age and above), depending on age and attention span. - Frequency & Commitment: Lessons are offered in blocks (recommended minimum: 6 lessons per child). With 12 Lesson Package, lessons must be completed within 6weeks. 2 or more lessons must be scheduled weekly to obtain this requirement. 1 sick day is allowed for rescheduling. 2 days allowed for weather. Vacation must be advised while booking, last minute changes will result in forfeited days missed. Consistent attendance is required to progress safely and effectively. - Class type: Private (1:1), Semi‑Private (1:2 or 1:3), or Small Group (max 4–6 based on age/ability). Coach‑to‑swimmer ratios are adjusted by level and age for safety and learning efficiency. - Progression: Swimmers must demonstrate mastery of defined skills for promotion to the next level; completion is assessed by the instructor and recorded in the swimmer’s profile. Typical Level Breakdown (example) 1. Water Acclimation (Intro/Baby & Toddler) - Goals: Comfortable entry/exit, face immersion tolerance, blowing bubbles, assisted floating. - Outcomes: Child responds to caregiver/coach prompts, demonstrates basic breath control and relaxed movement. 2. Foundation / Beginner - Goals: Independent floating, gliding, basic kicking on back and front with support, submersion recovery, safe pool entry/exit. - Outcomes: Unassisted float for short periods, sustained flutter kick with board or support, basic water safety behaviors. 3. Intermediate / Independent Swimmer - Goals: Unassisted front and back floats, coordinated breathing, streamlined push‑offs, continuous 12–25 yards front crawl with rhythmic breathing, introduction to elementary backstroke. - Outcomes: Confident movement across the pool, safe treading, ability to respond to basic emergency prompts. 4. Stroke Development - Goals: Refined front crawl and backstroke technique, introduction to breaststroke and butterfly basics, efficient turns and surface dives (age appropriate). - Outcomes: Improved speed and endurance, multiple continuous laps with correct technique, increased stamina. 5. Refinement & Specialized Skills - Goals: Competitive stroke mechanics, endurance training, starts/turns, open‑water preparedness (where applicable), lifeguard awareness and basic rescue readiness for advanced swimmers. - Outcomes: Swimmer prepared for competitive programs or recreational independence with strong technique and safety awareness. Assessment & Recordkeeping - Initial Assessment: Each swimmer receives an intake evaluation to place them in the appropriate level. - Ongoing Tracking: Coaches log skills achieved, notes from each lesson, attendance, and recommendations for home practice. - Graduation Criteria: Level advancement is based on demonstrated skill mastery, not strictly on number of lessons. Safety & Policies - This program prioritizes safety — certified instructors, appropriate coach‑to‑swimmer ratios, and active supervision at all times. - Required documentation: Completed waiver(s) and health disclosure prior to the first lesson. - Illness/Exposure Policy: Swimmers with contagious illness should stay home; rescheduling follows program policy. - No Drop‑Ins: Because progression depends on consistent, sequenced instruction, drop‑in or single lesson participation is not permitted. Blocks must be purchased and paid in full to secure scheduling and maintain instructional continuity. Instructor Qualifications - All coaches are certified in CPR/First Aid and trained in age‑appropriate aquatic instruction. Instructors follow a standardized curriculum and receive regular coaching updates and training. Home Practice & Parental Role - Recommended short home practice activities and safety reinforcement are provided after lessons to accelerate progress. Parents are encouraged to reinforce water‑safe behaviors and practice drills between lessons. Scheduling & Payment - Lessons are scheduled in recurring blocks to maintain progression (example: same day/time weekly). Full payment or a deposit may be required to secure time slots. Minimum lesson package: 6 lessons per child. Lessons may not be split across siblings. Outcomes You Can Expect - Increased water safety awareness and reduced fear/anxiety in the water. - Measurable technical improvements in propulsion, breathing, and stroke mechanics. - Clear milestones documented by coaches so families can see progress and next steps.
